Upcoming changes and deprecations

Gemfury will be receiving the following improvements that may be invasive to the functionality of your clients, scripts, and workflows, so please take note and make appropriate changes.

May 1, 2015

The API/deploy token for Organizations will soon be restricted to read-only access. While this token currently has full-access to the account, it will soon only allow deployment and read operations via the API.

Ongoing

We will deprecate gems.gemfury.com endpoint for downloading and uploading packages. Please make changes to your Gemfury clients to use the new Repository URL format and upload method. For now, it will be used as a backup for fury.io endpoint until further notice.

We've recently made these changes that may be invasive to the functionality and your use of Gemfury.

November 1, 2014

Due to technical limitations, we will no longer support CLI access from versions prior to 0.4.20. Please run gem update gemfury to update to the latest CLI.

October 1, 2013

We have redesigned the dashboard and encourage all customers to upgrade their account. Since October 1, 2013, the old dashboard is no longer supported and has been removed. All users who have not upgraded will be introduced to the New Dashboard and forced to upgrade.

February 18, 2013

With the introduction of our new Repository URL format, the default collaborator permission will now be Upload and download for all collaborators added to your account after February 18, 2013. This will allow collaborators to download packages from an account without having its secret token.
